Season Tickets and VIP Parking Passes Now Available

Season tickets for all events at Mansfield Motorsports Park are available, as is VIP Parking for the track’s cornerstone event - NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Ohio 250. The season pass is just $169 will give holders admission to all six racing events at MMP in 2008, including the NCTS event on May 23, the two USAR Hooters Pro Cup races on June 14 and August 30, the ISMA Supermodified and HOSS 410 open wheel doubleheader on August 9, and the NASCAR Camping World East Series and Whelen Modified Tour Doubleheader on August 23. There is also an added “TBA” date slated for June 28. “We started our special event only schedule last season, and saw a very positive response to offering a single ticket to all of our events,” said MMP president Mike Dzurilla. “If you do the math, it’s like buying the other five races on our schedule and getting a great seat for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race for free.” Anyone who has purchased a ticket to the Ohio 250 and would like to upgrade to a season pass will have their purchase pro-rated, with the cost of the NCTS ticket deducted from the cost of the season pass. VIP Parking for the Ohio 250 is also now available, with preferred parking only $25. Camping passes for the MMP campgrounds on State Route 545 are also available for $50. “That parking lot is directly adjacent to the main grandstand, it’s easy in and easy out,” Dzurilla said. “We have plenty of parking here, but we know there are people that want to be right up close. A VIP Parking pass will get you as close as you can get without being a competitor or an official. “Our campgrounds are always full of people looking to have a great time for the entire weekend, and some are here for longer than that,” Dzurilla said. “We’ve seen them show up four or five days early and leave a couple of days after the race. It’s a great setting in the rolling hills off State Route 545. Some of the track employees even stay in the campground during the week and enjoy that atmosphere created by some of the best race fans in the Midwest. We have security patrolling the campground the entire week, with trash pickup and water and pumping services also available. Those passes are just $50.” Tickets for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Ohio 250 are now on sale, and can be purchased via the track website, www.mansfieldmotorsportsonline.com. Fans can also call the track ticket office at (419) 525-RACE (7223), or visit the speedway office at 100 Crall Road. 2008 Mansfield Motorsports Park Schedule May 23 – NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Practice and Qualifying May 24 – NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series “Ohio 250” June 14 – USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series Northern Division 250 June 28 – TBA July 4 – Freedom Festival and Fireworks Show August 9 – ISMA Supermodified Nationals & HOSS 410 Sprints August 23 – NASCAR Camping World Series and NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Doubleheader August 30 – USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series Championship Series 25 -Tentative, subject to change

Mansfield Motorsports Park Now on MySpace

With tens of millions of members - many of them racing fans - already enrolled, the popular online community MySpace.com now has a new member: Mansfield Motorsports Park. The MMP page has been designed to augment the track’s current website, www.mansfieldmotorsportsonline.com, by offering fans a chance to interact not only with the track’s staff but also many of the drivers, teams, crew members, and sanctioning bodies that participate at MMP.

“I’ve had a MySpace page for a long time now and have seen just how many people inside the racing world are on there,” said MMP’s public relations manager Charles Krall. “So I figured why not create one for the track? It gives our fans a chance to talk to us, leave us public comments, and even become online friends with some of the biggest names in the sport. There are drivers, crew members, media members, and even other tracks and sanctioning bodies that have MySpace pages, and they are only a couple of clicks away. Say you want to leave a comment for Ron Hornaday, a former Mansfield winner and the defending series champion. That’s a pretty easy one because right now he’s at the top of our friends list. Ron is a big fan of Mansfield, so we just hope you leave him a positive comment!”

The Mansfield Motorsports Park MySpace page will also allow fans to share their experiences at the track. There will be a fan photo section in the photo gallery, and any interesting stories sent in by the fans will be used in the track’s blog.

“We have an e-mail address set up just for fans to send us their pictures,” Krall said. “We want them to send their digital pictures of their experiences here at the track to us at fanpics@mansfield-speedway.com. It can be pictures they took of action on the track, getting a drivers autograph, or enjoying themselves in the stands or even tailgating out in the parking lot.

“Another motivation for me to start the page for the track is to help put names to the faces of the people who work here at the track,” Krall continued. “And I am not talking about just myself or even our general manager Bill Conn or our office manager Tammi Moore or the rest of our office staff. I am hoping we get pictures of everyone up there, from the smiling faces you see taking tickets to security to concessions and our maintenance staff. These people all do a fantastic job of making the fans’ experience at Mansfield Motorsports Park what it is, and this is a neat way of allowing them to get some recognition for it.”

The MMP MySpace page can be found at www.myspace.com/mansfieldmotorsportspark.
